Garland, TX – Dallas County Commissioner Dr. Theresa Daniel is inviting residents to attend an important townhall meeting in Garland on June 4. This session will provide a valuable opportunity for community members to learn about local initiatives, ask questions, and connect with their local officials.
The townhall will take place from 6 PM to 8 PM at Road and Bridge 1, located at 715 Rowlett Road, Garland, TX 75043. Residents are encouraged to register in advance to ensure their participation.

The Dallas County Commissioners Court serves as the primary legislative and policy-making body for Dallas County, Texas. County governments in Texas have limited ordinance-making powers, granted explicitly by state law. The Commissioners Court is responsible for setting the county tax rate, adopting the budget, appointing boards and commissions, approving grants and personnel actions, and overseeing the administration of county government.
Each Texas county is governed by a five-member Commissioners Court, as established in the State Constitution. The county is divided into four equal Commissioner’s districts, known as Road and Bridge Districts, from which each Commissioner is elected, allowing for representation that reflects the population.
Attendees at the townhall will have the chance to hear from several key presenters, including:
- John R. Ames, Tax Assessor, Dallas County Tax Office
- Deanna Hammond, Constable, Dallas County Precinct 2
- Michael Orozco, Constable, Dallas County Precinct 5
- Dr. Philip Huang, Dallas County Health and Human Services
The townhall will provide residents the opportunity to learn more about the county’s role in the community and ask questions related to those responsibilities.
