Regional Transportation Council to Convene June 12, 2025

Arlington, TX – The Regional Transportation Council (RTC) will hold its next business meeting in person at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in the Transportation Council Room of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) at 616 Six Flags Dr., Arlington, TX 76011.

The meeting will feature a full agenda, which includes:

  1. Public Comment Opportunity (1:00 – 1:10 PM)
    Members of the public will have the chance to comment on items from the agenda. Speaker Request Cards will be available at the meeting, with a maximum time limit of three minutes per speaker.
  2. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes (1:10 – 1:15 PM)
    The council will seek approval of the minutes from the April 10, 2025 meeting.
  3. Consent Agenda (1:15 – 1:20 PM)
    • Regional Energy Management Assistance Program: Approval to participate in a contract and use RTC Local funds as match.
    • Air Quality Funding Recommendations: Approval for funding related to the Environmental Protection Agency National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program.
    • Backstop Funding for Air Quality Initiatives: Request for $300,000 in RTC Local transitional funding for the Regional Air Quality Initiatives Program.
  4. Orientation to Agenda/Director of Transportation Report (1:20 – 1:35 PM)
    Updates on various topics including the Medal of Honor Museum, federal certification review, and upcoming meetings.
  5. Title VI Program Update (1:35 – 1:45 PM)
    Approval of updates to ensure compliance with federal civil rights requirements.
  6. Mobility 2050 and Transportation Conformity (1:45 – 1:55 PM)
    Approval of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan and associated Transportation Conformity analysis.
  7. Grant Application Partnership for the Cotton Belt Trail (1:55 – 2:05 PM)
    Request for approval to partner with DART for a grant application to the Texas Department of Transportation.
  8. Managed Lane Policy and HOV Subsidy Funding (2:05 – 2:15 PM)
    Request for approval of a funding increase for the North Tarrant Express High Occupancy Vehicle subsidy.
  9. Transportation Alternatives Call for Projects (2:15 – 2:25 PM)
    Overview of the Transportation Alternatives Program and project funding recommendations.
  10. Safety Program – Strategic Selection of Safety Corridors (2:25 – 2:35 PM)
    Approval for the selection of safety corridors to help reduce speed and aggressive driving.
  11. Community Electric Vehicle Charging Grant (2:35 – 2:45 PM)
    Information on the proposed Call for Projects for electric vehicle charging site selection.
  12. Metropolitan Planning Organization Milestone Policy Update (2:45 – 2:50 PM)
    Status report on project tracking and milestone policies.
  13. Election of RTC Officers (2:50 – 3:00 PM)
    Approval of the RTC officers for the upcoming year.
  14. Proposed Follow-up to Transit 2.0 (3:00 – 3:10 PM)
    Discussion on proposed policies related to transit delivery.
  15. Progress Reports (3:10 – 3:20 PM)
    Updates on RTC attendance and other relevant reports.
  16. Other Business
    An opportunity for members to bring items of interest before the council.
  17. Future Agenda Items
    An opportunity for members to propose topics for future meetings.
  18. Next Meeting Announcement
    The next RTC meeting is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
