New City of Garland Volunteer Trailer Hits the Road

GARLAND, TX — The Garland Parks and Recreation Department has announced the launch of its new Volunteer Trailer, made possible by a grant from the North Central Texas Council of Governments for 2024. This mobile unit is fully equipped with essential tools, safety gear, solar-powered lights, and even a command desk to support beautification projects, waterway cleanups, and community events throughout Garland.

The trailer’s exterior features a vibrant custom wrap designed by the City of Garland, Texas Government Public and Media Relations Office.

“The Volunteer Trailer is a game changer for how we serve Garland,” said Josue Diaz, the Volunteer Coordinator for the City of Garland. “With a Volunteer Office made up of just two staff members and the incredible support of many departments across the city, having a mobile command center allows us to remain lean, agile, and highly effective. It means we can show up fully equipped for cleanups, beautification efforts, or citywide volunteer events and immediately get to work. The trailer removes logistical hurdles, centralizes our resources, and enables volunteers to focus on what they do best: building a stronger and more beautiful community. It is not just a trailer; it is a symbol of what collaboration and community spirit can accomplish.”

Community members are encouraged to get involved and witness the trailer in action. Upcoming volunteer events can be found by signing up at VolunteerGarland.org.

With this new addition, Garland Parks and Recreation is poised to make an even greater impact in the community, fostering a spirit of collaboration and environmental stewardship.
