Introducing The Library at Home: A New Service from Garland Public Libraries

Garland, TX – The Garland Public Library has announced the launch of The Library at Home, a new pilot program designed to bring library materials directly to residents unable to visit in person due to disability, illness, injury, or other mobility-related challenges. This innovative service aims to enhance access to reading and educational resources for those who need it most.

The Library at Home program will deliver various items, including books and other library materials, right to the doorsteps of participants. Residents who wish to take advantage of this service must complete an online application and hold a valid Garland library card. During this pilot phase, participation is limited, allowing the library to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery process.

Library staff will tailor the offerings to meet the unique interests of each participant. Residents may request up to three items each month, which will be loaned for four weeks. Deliveries will occur on the first Monday of each month, with library materials provided in a special Library at Home bag. Staff will pick up previously borrowed items during the next delivery.
