Garland, TX — As summer approaches, Garland Power & Light (GP&L) is reminding residents about the EnergySaver Program, designed to help customers save money and energy during the hot weather months. This initiative offers bill credits for qualifying energy efficiency upgrades, encouraging residents to improve their homes’ energy efficiency.
The EnergySaver Program provides incentives for several upgrades, including:
- Central air conditioning systems or heat pumps
- Window air conditioning units that are ENERGY STAR® rated
- Ceiling insulation
- ENERGY STAR® windows and doors
- Window solar screens or film
By participating in the program, GP&L customers can reduce their energy consumption and receive substantial utility bill credits for eligible improvements. The program aims to lower monthly utility bills while promoting a more energy-efficient community.
Program Details
To ensure successful participation, customers are encouraged to review the full program requirements before starting any energy efficiency projects. Applications must be submitted within 30 days of installation to qualify for bill credits, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis until September 30, 2025, or until funding is depleted.
Specific applications include:
- Central Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Program: For systems with a minimum efficiency rating.
- Window Unit Air Conditioning Program: For ENERGY STAR® rated window units.
- Wholehouse Weatherization Program: Covering various insulation and sealing upgrades.
In addition to the EnergySaver Program, GP&L offers free home energy audits to help customers identify further ways to enhance their home’s energy efficiency.
