City of Garland Launches Restore and Respond Initiative to Address Code Violations

Garland, TX – The City of Garland has announced the launch of its new initiative, Restore & Respond, set to begin on August 4. This program aims to address residents’ needs and improve response times for common code violations, including overgrown grass, trash, debris, and minor fence repairs.

According to a recent News Flash by the city, when violations are identified, Garland’s Code Compliance Department will proactively reach out to residents to inform them of the issue. If residents are unable to achieve compliance within the designated timeframe, the City will take action to remedy the violation by cleaning up debris, mowing grass, and repairing minor fence issues. It is important to note that any costs incurred by the City to address these violations may be billed to the resident.

Recognizing that some residents may face challenges in meeting compliance deadlines, the City encourages individuals to contact Code Compliance promptly upon receiving a notice of violation. The initiative aims to work collaboratively with residents to find reasonable solutions that accommodate their circumstances.

Additionally, the City will continue to provide support to senior residents through access to volunteers and various City programs designed to assist with property maintenance as they become available.

For further questions or more information about the initiative, residents are encouraged to email the Code Compliance Department at codenfc@garlandtx.gov.
