About Alfonso Solis
Alfonso Solis is not just a survival expert; he is a compassionate community member dedicated to helping others. His journey into tracking and search and rescue began in December 2022, when he answered a call for volunteers in a search for a missing person in Duck Creek Park. He had been training for the moment, and with determination and a heart for service, he led a team of volunteers to set out for a search that within moments would lead to a recovery that is seared into his memory.

Solis has since participated in dozens of searches, including a recent effort that brought a missing woman home safely. He has helped reunite nearly two dozen individuals with their families and has recovered several more.
In addition to his search and rescue work, Solis conducts active shooter trainings and survival camps that blend practical skills with life lessons. Solis is one of the only active shooter trainers in Texas who teaches in both English and Spanish, traveling across the state to deliver important training lessons. The Adventure Day camps are designed for families, and the lessons he shares impact parents and their kids alike. He believes in the power of role models, often reminding families, “Imagine what your kids learn from seeing you. Remember, your kids don’t just follow in your footsteps, they see it.”
Adventure Day promises to be a meaningful experience, empowering families with skills that can enhance their safety and well-being in the outdoors. For more information and to reserve your spot, please contact the City of Balch Springs at [email protected].
