Consumer Reports Online provides in-depth product testing, ratings, and buying advice for over 10,000 products and services, including cars, appliances, and more. While some content is available to the public, many features such as detailed product ratings and buying guides require a paid subscription, which is now accessible at no cost to library cardholders.

A Consumer Reports account offers a range of benefits, including access to unbiased product ratings, reviews, and buying guides. Users can find expert advice and exclusive member savings while staying informed about safety and recall alerts, including food and product recalls. Additionally, the account provides tools such as the Best Time to Buy tool, which helps identify the best deals on top-rated products, and the CR Selectors, designed to assist in making informed purchasing decisions.

To get started, simply visit the Do It Yourself page on the City of Garland website. Click on the Consumer Reports link and log in using your library card number and PIN (last four digits of the phone number on file with the library). With this new offering, Garland residents can make informed purchasing decisions and ensure they find the best products to suit their needs.
