Public Invited to Participate in Important Infrastructure Research Survey

DALLAS, TX — Mustafa Abdul Haque, a researcher at Southern Methodist University, is conducting a critical study titled “Applying Value Theories to Understand Civil Engineering Infrastructure Preferences.” The survey seeks to gather insights on how community values influence public preferences regarding infrastructure in North Central Texas, including roads, water systems, transit, and public spaces.

This research aims to inform equitable and inclusive infrastructure planning by mapping how different demographics prioritize various infrastructure elements. Survey participants will help ensure that public works reflect the actual needs and values of the communities they serve. The study is focused on amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities, providing valuable data that local leaders can use to advocate for just and responsive policies.

Participation requirements are simple:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Live in the North Central Texas region
  • No special expertise required—just your honest opinions!

Participation in the survey takes only 10–15 minutes, and respondents will have the chance to enter a raffle for a $125 Amazon or Visa gift card as a token of appreciation for their time.
