Just reading some things that didn’t make the front page

I was reading news from different links this evening. I ran into “A Point of View” on BBC News.  The article talks about how we are getting away from the written word. It might not be the best thing in this electronic age. We can respond quickly to anything we see and that may not be the wisest thing to do. When we respond instantly it doesn’t give us the time to ponder, soak in, digest, and gain wisdom from what we’ve read. Our responses can lack the wisdom that we gained. We can look ignorant or foolish. That is not how I wish to be perceived. My plan is tho write my initial response like Virginia Woolf did. I will get my initial response written down and “off my chest”. Then I will wait a while to let myself “cool down”. I will re-write my response so  hopefully a more mature and intelligent person shows through. We aren’t going to get rid of the electronic media but we can let ourselves gain control of our responses we give in it.

While I was surfing the net I ran into this Onion story,

Brain-Dead Teen, Only Capable Of Rolling Eyes And Texting, To Be Euthanized.

I loved it. It is so like my niece. I can’t wait for her to see it. Watch and enjoy!
